I have been making up stories in my head for as long as I can remember. My parents read to my siblings and me almost as soon as we were born, and didn’t stop until we were in high school. I started telling my own children stories when they would not settle down for naps. When they began requesting the same stories over and over, I began writing them down.
For over 30 years, I have been a Kansan by choice. I just retired from teaching public school band and choir, and am active in my church and community. I drive part-time for an agency that oversees the care of foster children. My hobbies include reading, writing, sewing, cooking, gardening, making music and thinking. My goal in teaching was to help students become independent musicians who can make decisions on their own. My goal in writing is to help people see themselves as part of the larger picture of life. I want to encourage my readers to build healthy, happy relationships that bring peace and understanding to the people with whom they interact. I want them to make their relationships matter.
